AIPAC applauds the 387 members of the House of Representatives who signed a letter to Secretary of State Michael Pompeo supporting efforts to extend the United Nations arms embargo on Iran.

We strongly condemn the issuing of a blacklist by the United Nations Human Rights Council that could be used for discriminatory action against Israel. Thisblacklist is clearly designed to target American and Israelicompanies for boycotts and other punitive action.

Today, the Trump administration released its framework to help achieve peacebetween Israelis and Palestinians. We appreciate the efforts of President Trump and his administration to work in consultation with the leaders of the two major Israeli political parties to set forth ideas to resolve the conflict in a way that recognizes our ally’s critical security needs. Indeed, both Israeli political leaders view this framework as the basis to restart negotiations with the Palestinians.

AIPAC applauds Congress for strongly supporting Israeli security and strengthening the U.S.-Israel relationship in provisions included in the new funding bills.

AIPAC commends the U.S. Congress for including important pro-Israel provisions in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2020. These critical provisions will help Israel protect itself against mounting security threats. The bipartisan measure authorizes $500 million for U.S.-Israel missile defense cooperation and up to $25 million for U.S.-Israel counter-unmanned aerial systems (UAS) cooperation.

AIPAC applauds the House of Representatives for adopting three bipartisan measures that strengthen the U.S.-Israel relationship: a pro-Israel resolution that rejects the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign against Israel, a bill that authorizes security assistance to the Jewish state and a bill that imposes sanctions on supporters of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

AIPAC applauds the House Foreign Affairs Committee for adopting a pro-Israel resolution that rejects the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign against Israel and a bill that authorizes security assistance to the Jewish state.

AIPAC commends the overwhelming bipartisan majority of the Senate and the House of Representatives who signed a letter to President Trump urging U.S. support for Israel as it combats mounting threats on its northern border from Iran and its proxies. The letter was signed by 79 senators and 303 representatives from both parties.

AIPAC commends the Trump administration for its decision to end sanctions waivers to countries that are currently importing Iranian oil. This action will intensify economic pressure on the Iranian regime in order to deny Iran the resources to fuel its regional aggression and nuclear ambitions. We appreciate the efforts of members of Congress who urged the administration to end the waivers.

AIPAC applauds the U.S. Senate for adopting the Strengthening America's Security in the Middle East Act (S.1),which contains critical pro-Israel provisions. These provisions—contained in oneofthe first major bipartisan bills adopted by the Senate this year—pledge security assistance to Israel and clarify that state and local governments have the right to counter boycotts of Israel.

AIPAC is saddened by the passing offormer AIPAC PresidentLarry Weinberg (z"l) who was a deeply respected leader in the pro-Israel community. Larry and his wife, Barbi, were critical in forging the movement to strengthen the relationship between the U.S. and the Jewish state. Their dedicated efforts over many years educated scores of political and community leaders about the importance of our bipartisan alliance with our democratic ally.
