House joins with Senate in unanimous vote of Solidarity with Israel

With the House vote today, Congress has sent a unified message of solidarity between the people of the U.S. and the people of Israel in their struggle against terrorist attacks on their citizens. The House unanimously adopted a bipartisan resolution, sponsored by Congressmen Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Howard Berman, expressing firm support for Israel’s “inherent right to self-defense to protect its citizens against acts of terrorism.” An identical resolution sponsored by Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Mark Kirk unanimously passed the Senate last night.

The bipartisan Senate and House unanimous votes of solidarity with Israel are genuinely significant in that both occurred within a 24-hour period immediately after Israel began its efforts to defend herself against Hamas terrorist attacks. AIPAC salutes the resolute stance of the Senate and the House in standing by our democratic ally, Israel.
