Biden: No Options off Table on Iran Nuclear Program

Vice President Joe Biden reaffirmed his commitment to Israel on Tuesday, May 8, saying that the U.S. takes “no options off the table” on Iran, Haaretz reported. Speaking at the annual convention of the Rabbinical Assembly in Atlanta, Georgia, Biden stated that Israel should not “contract security” out to anyone, should it reach the conclusion that Iran is on the verge of obtaining a nuclear weapon. Biden stated the U.S. takes “no options off table,” telling the crowd that the window for Israeli military action is closing in the near term. The vice president also reiterated his commitment to Israel, saying it is driven by “the overwhelming sense that there is a moral historic obligation to the State of Israel,” adding that Israel’s security is in the “fundamental national interest of the United States.”
