U.N. relief officials returned from a four-day visit to Syria this week and reported that the country is being systematically destroyed by its own people. This visit was eye-opening for the U.N. officials who said they had not realized the extent to which the conflict was destroying the country. The officials expressed disappointment at both sides of the conflict being fueled by outside powers providing weaponry to them. Syria’s war torn interior partnered with the outside support of terrorist and other groups have made the country a hotbed of uncertainty in an already unstable Middle East.
