Past AIPAC Real Estate Division Events

In 2008 AIPAC launched an effort to engage activists from New York’s real estate community in AIPAC’s critical work through the establishment of the AIPAC Real Estate Division. The primary purpose of this effort is to encourage participation in AIPAC, engagement in pro-Israel political efforts together with industry colleagues, and the building of relationships with members of Congress.

Past AIPAC Real Estate Division Events

The 2012 Real Estate Division Luncheon was our most successful annual luncheon to-date. With roughly 800 industry professionals in attendance the luncheon raised $3.25 million, more than doubling its fundraising total in 2011.

The luncheon was attended by some of the biggest names in the New York real estate industry with a moving program that included President’s Cabinet member and Luncheon Co-Chair Simon Ziff; Chairman’s Council member and Vice Chair of the Real Estate Division Executive Council, Mitch Steir; Real Estate Director, Jay Haberman; an award presentation to Chairman’s Council member and outgoing Chair, Mitch Rudin; remarks from Minyan member and current Chair, Craig Solomon; keynote address from Howard Kohr; and closing remarks from Minyan member Milton Cooper, Honorary Luncheon Chair and AIPAC Partner for Tomorrow.

AIPAC President Michael Kassen, along with Board members Amy Friedkin, Yossi Siegel, Phil Darivoff, Bob Cohen and founder of the AIPAC Real Estate Division and Board member, Richard Bassuk were all in attendance.

Past events include The 2011 AIPAC Real Estate Luncheon at The Grand Hyatt with 700 industry leaders featuring U.S. Senator Mark Kirk (R-IL), The 2010 Luncheon at Cipriani 42nd Street featuring Newark, New Jersey Mayor Cory A. Booker and The 2009 Luncheon at the Plaza Hotel featuring U.S. News and World Report Editor-in-Chief Mortimer B. Each June committee members are invited to a Summer Rooftop Reception at one of Manhattan’s most appealing venues such as the Dream Downtown Hotel, 230 Fifth and the Gansevoort Park Avenue Hotel. Committee members have had “beyond the headline” exchanges with Israel’s Vice Prime Minister and former IDF Chief of Staff Moshe “Bogie” Ya’alon, former Israeli Deputy Defense Minister Dr. Ephraim Sneh, and AIPAC Executive Director Howard Kohr.

Patron Co-Chairs of the AIPAC Real Estate Committee took part in a special AIPAC briefing hosted by Milton Cooper and enjoyed an exclusive dinner reception and Israeli wine tasting event with their spouses at the Regency Hotel. Most recently, Patron Co-Chairs were invited to a private luncheon with Israeli Ambassador to Washington, Michael Oren.
