Jeremy Bash was the Chief of Staff at the U.S. Department of Defense (2011-2013) and the Central Intelligence Agency (2009-2011). As a senior advisor to Leon Panetta in both roles, Bash worked extensively on some of the most important national security decisions in America’s history. Along with developing national strategies to decimate Al-Qaeda’s leadership and combating challenges posed by North Korea’s nuclear tests, Bash oversaw covert intelligence operations in the Middle East and around the world; and from August 2010 to May 2011 served on the C.I.A. senior management team that oversaw the operation that killed Osama Bin Laden. In 2012 Bash was portrayed in the movie Zero Dark Thirty, and in 2008 a character based on him appeared in the HBO original movie Recount about the 2000 United States presidential election recount in Florida. In 2010, Bash was named as one of TIME Magazine's 40 Under 40. Currently he is the co-founder and serves as a Managing Director at Beacon Global Strategies, LLC a strategic advisory firm specializing in matters of international policy, foreign affairs, national defense, cyber intelligence, and homeland security.
