Assistant Area Director, Chicago
Roles and Responsibilities
The Assistant Area Director will work within the four-member Chicago team and the entire Midwest team on development, events, political activism and other activities to ensure organizational success, primarily in the Chicago area.
- Seeking, initiating and managing cultivation "parlor meetings" hosted by donors.
- Gift solicitations and renewals.
- Building strong relationships through attentive donor stewardship.
- Networking with current AIPAC donors to identify family, friends and colleagues who could become donors or political activists.
- Identifying, researching and calling new prospects.
- Encouraging political involvement by members and fostering activism across the range of AIPAC activities.
- Briefing and educating members on legislative, political and Middle East developments.
- Recruitment for national AIPAC events (Policy Conference, National Summit and missions to Israel).
Qualifications
- Passionate about Israel
- Knowledge of Israel politics a plus
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and enjoy member interaction
- Comfortable with public speaking
- Comfortable with face-to-face solicitation
- Able to motivate people to take action
- Knowledge of the Chicago Jewish community a plus
- Ability to multi-task and implement event logistics
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
- Must have graduated with a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Full competencies in the Microsoft Office Suite
