Roles and Responsibilities
The Regional Outreach Director for Hispanic Outreach will report to the Regional Director (Los Angeles) and will work closely with the National Outreach Director (Washington, DC) to implement the National Outreach Program.
The Regional Outreach Director will be responsible for the following:
- Building relationships with key political, religious and community leaders within Hispanic communities in the Southern Pacific Region and educating them about the US-Israel relationship.
- Promoting pro-Israel political participation among Hispanics.
- Analyzing local political trends.
- Performing necessary research and preparing background materials and documents.
- Developing and refining action plans.
- Working closely with AIPAC’s staff (regional and national) and lay leaders.
- Recruiting participants for regional and national AIPAC events.
- Planning and implementing meetings, speaking events, conferences and other events.
- Assisting with mobilization on important legislative campaigns.
- Assisting in educational meetings with candidates for federal office
- Traveling within the region frequently and to Washington, DC as needed. Traveling occasionally to Israel with local leaders and contacts
- Performing other activities as assigned by the Regional Director or National Outreach Director.
Qualifications
- Well-developed political skills, including at least 5 years of political experience, in Congress, in a state legislature or local government, on political campaigns, and/or equivalent activities, with proven ability to handle multiple tasks successfully.
- A thorough understanding of and demonstrated experience working with Hispanic communities and politics.
- An abiding commitment to advance the US-Israel relationship.
- Highly intelligent with strong academic background (Bachelor’s degree minimum).
- Superior organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Team-oriented personality with can-do attitude.
- Strong communication (oral and written) and research skills.
- Ability to travel regularly.
- Spanish language ability preferred.
