Roles and Responsibilities
This individual works with the deputy National Political Director to provide assessments of campaigns and political trends in U.S. politics. Responsibilities include:
- Track house, Senate, and Presidential races, as well as national political trends: use available resources to analyze the competitiveness of races; keep the political department informed about trends and developments; write daily/weekly political briefings; produce materials for use in national and regional political briefings
- Write AIPAC's quarterly political race assessment magazine
- Work with AIPAC's regional offices to: track and provide analysis for congressional races; schedule candidate meetings and obtain pro-Israel position papers
- Help educate candidates for office to keep extensive records of candidate meetings and to work with candidates/campaigns/consultants to get position papers
- Manage political files by keeping position papers/candidate meeting forms organized and accessible
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of campaign or political experience
- Superior Writing skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Well organized
- Attention to detail
- Ability to consume tremendous amounts of information and discern what is most important
- Good computer research skills
- Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- U.S. Citizenship
