Roles and Responsibilities
- Achieve annual fundraising goals through retention of current donors. This includes:
- Coordinating and executing annual development plan to include face-to-face solicitations of major donors;
- Upgrading and renewing all club level gifts;
- Aid in the process of identifying, researching and contacting new prospects;
- Building strong relationships through attentive donor stewardship, including timely acknowledgment of gifts, regular stewardship meetings, events, educational updates and briefings, and more.
- Develop AIPAC lay leadership structure.
- Identify and train new lay solicitors, based on campaign structure and needs-based assessment.
- Create a leadership path for activists.
- Identify and recruit members for national AIPAC programs.
- Encourage pro-Israel political activism.
- Educate community members regarding the political process and political analyses of the congressional districts in the Greater Washington area.
- Public speaking in small and large venues to brief the leadership, membership and pro-Israel community regarding the latest developments in Israel and the Middle East.
- Work with the Greater Washington team on the planning and execution of meetings and events in the areas above including:
- Parlor meetings and congressional caucuses;
- Synagogue educational and membership events;
- Annual fundraising and recognition events for major donors;
- Educational programs;
- Outreach events for new prospects and new members;
- Open community events;
- Coordinating recruitment for national initiatives including AIPAC’s Policy Conference, National Summit, and missions.
Qualifications
- Fundraising campaign management and major gift solicitation experience.
- Ability to work with AIPAC’s diverse lay leadership and to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding written & verbal communication skills, including public speaking experience.
- Strategic thinker, able to understand and act upon AIPAC’s objectives.
- Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of national politics, the Middle East, pro-Israel political activism, and the Jewish community.
- Experience in Jewish communal and/or other non-profit organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree plus work experience in related field.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and other applications.
