Roles and Responsibilities

  • Administer financial systems which include security, reporting, metadata changes and trouble shooting system issues
  • Liaison between the IT and Finance departments and work closely with finance and accounting personnel in direct support of the existing accounting systems, including Mas 90, MIP, FAS Fixed Assets, Crystal Reporting, and Frx Reporting.
  • Work with user community to enhance their use of the existing financial consolidation and reporting systems including evaluation of existing skills levels, recommendation and coordination of user training.
  • Quickly analyzes a problem and, based on knowledge and/or past experience, resolves the problem so finance department can resume work and meet deadlines.
  • Manages all phases of a systems review and implementation project life-cycle; including requirement gathering, planning, testing, implementing, and training.
  • Assists with monthly system balancing, including A/R to Pledgemaker, and other peripheral systems.
  • Maintains all system set-ups and security.
  • Assists in report writing via Crystal Reports and FRx as needed by the Finance Department.  
  • Work with corporate and regional Financial Reporting and Accounting staffs to implement process improvements related to systems and financial period close process
  • Continually improves efficiency in required tasks by identifying ways and means to reduce costs of operations while increasing service, timeliness, and quality through automation and/or integration
  • Handles support contact and vendor relationships, including the scheduling and testing of system updates and upgrades. Monitor financial system releases and upgrades to ensure that systems are running on most current releases
Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree preferred in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 7 years of Accounting Experience
    • Minimum 3 years experience with an ERP system or other database system
  • Excellent understanding of general accounting principles
  • Must be able to manage cross functions projects
  • Excellent customer service skills and respect for others are a must
  • Requires above average knowledge of accounting concepts and procedures
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels within the organization
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based upon needs and requirements of the Firm in conjunction with the individual and departmental goals
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, work well under pressure, and be flexible in work assignments
  • Must have advanced knowledge of database reporting packages
  • Must have database management knowledge; Microsoft Excel skills and Microsoft Office programs
