AIPAC is a registered domestic lobby whose principal mission is to work with Congress on legislation that strengthens the relationship between the United States and Israel.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Oversee all accounting and financial aspects of the Foundation's endowment and annual fundraising campaigns
  • Supervise small staff
  • Oversee all compliance processes related to the 501c3/501c4 relationship including granting and time study
  • Ensure internal and external compliance with rules and reporting requirements from IRS, FASB, AIEF Board of Directors, etc
  • Serve as the Foundation's point person for outside auditors an financial institutions
  • Oversee coordination between the fundraising and accounting systems
  • Research and develop best practices for investment allocations, annual distributions, report, etc
  • Serve as the Foundation's point person for investments, including reporting, analysis, and commentary
  • Assess and manage life insurance and other planned gifts
  • Serve as the Foundation's point person for any new projects involving process improvements or systems
  • Responsible for development of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for a variety of audiences
  • Responsible for development of operating procedures, internal controls, and documentation
  • Work closely with entire finance team to integrate and prioritize departmental and organizational goals
Qualifications
  • BS in Accounting of Finance; CPA preferred
  • 5-7 years experience in accounting; non-profit experience preferred
  • Knowledge with endowments and grant process preferred
  • Experience using non-profit and fund accounting software preferred
  • Working knowledge of applicable FASB accounting rules for non-profits
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, interfacing with staff, organization executives, Board of Directors, outside professionals and donors
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and database financial systems
  • Enjoys working with a professional team and motivates others to achieve
  • Self starter with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
